Figuring Out Your Emotions

Our Emotions

It is ok to feel each of the emotions, what you want to make sure is that you don’t hold onto the ones that make you feel unhappy or that you may think are “negative”.

You feel emotions in your body, for example, when you are afraid you may feel “butterflies” in your tummy, or when you feel angry you may feel that your heart beats faster. It is ok to feel these sensations, you want to feel them and then let them flow through you. If you hold onto emotions like fear you can before fearful of everything, which is not good for you and will hold you back from being happy and, you may develop low self esteem and not feel good about yourself.

When you let go of an emotion like anger, especially if someone has done something to you that may not have been very nice, it does not mean that you think the person was correct in what they did. It just means that you have the courage to feel the emotion but then move on from it. Maybe you will be able to tell the person who did something wrong to you that you don’t want them to do it again. Or maybe you will tell someone about them to get help.

It means you are a very strong person if you can deal with your emotions in this way.
